Welcome to My Practice

First and foremost, the purpose of my practice is to help patients feel better and to live more fulfilling lives. I am an MD with board certifications in general and addiction psychiatry and I treat conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, cognitive issues (often diagnosed as ADHD), and substance use disorders. My interests include difficult-to-treat depression, bipolar disorder, and chronotherapy. I have advanced clinical and research training in drug, alcohol, and the behavioral addictions, and can provide specialized treatments in this area.

I offer both medication management and individual therapy (i.e., talk therapy) informed by acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy. If you already have a therapist, I am happy to partner with your therapist in providing medication management. I am also happy to provide second-opinions or one-time consultations, if needed.

My treatment approach is flexible, practical, and individualized based on your needs and goals. Our initial session will focus on understanding the nature of your difficulties and your goals for treatment, as well as what has and has not worked in the past. As a physician, I may recommend medications or specialized treatments when warranted.
